C4MW 2023: Mass Walk with caregivers and CAL!

THANK YOU to everyone who joined us in walking with our caregivers!

As part of the CAL 4 Mental Wellness (C4MW) campaign, CAL organised an 18 KM mass walk on the evening of 8 July. We were heartened by the participation of 65 individuals who took the time to raise awareness about mental health and caregiving. Caregivers and their loved ones, our friends from organisations such as the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) and the MOH Office for Healthcare Transformation (MOHT), joined CAL's Board of Directors and staff to show solidarity with our Hidden Heroes.

Guided by the lights and sights of our city, we began from CAL HQ at Valley Point, passing through Newton and Little India towards our destination at Lau Pa Sat. Along the way, connections were fostered and renewed. We pointed out favourite food places, shared personal stories about mental health and caregiving, and encouraged each other throughout the long walk. The smiles at the end were not just a result of achieving a goal, but a reflection of the camaraderie and companionship that kept us going.

A caregiver's journey is similar. The road to recovery can be long and challenging, but having the knowledge to navigate it and receiving support along the way can make all the difference. That is our mission at CAL: to equip every caregiver with the necessary training and community support, enabling them to lead empowered lives.

Once again, we thank all participants who supported caregivers and C4MW! Your presence has been truly uplifting, not only to us at CAL but to all mental health caregivers.

If you are a caregiver, or know someone who is, we seek your support in helping us raise funds to continue providing our training programmes free of charge. C4MW has been extended until 31 July 2023 - you can donate to our main campaign or rally your community to create a sub-campaign!
