Navigating the Complexities of Suicide: An Introductory Talk from A Caregiver's Perspective

Join us for a compassionate discussion on suicide prevention. Jenny Teo, a suicide loss survivor and suicide prevention advocate, will share her personal journey and offer valuable insights into understanding and supporting loved ones at risk.

In this introductory talk, Jenny will explore the ‘constricted mind’ and share from a ‘first-person experience’ lessons learnt from hindsight as a caregiver and the importance of suicide literacy for caregivers in suicide prevention. Through ‘thought provoking’ exercises and real-world’ examples, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the psychological pain experienced by those contemplating suicide and learn how to respond with empathy and compassion.

A precursor to a series of workshop starting in January 2025, this talk will delve deeper into the complexities of suicide and equip caregivers with the tools and knowledge they need to support their loved ones. This talk is part of CAL’s continuous efforts to help caregivers and caregivers-to-be achieve higher levels of well-being and resilience, supplementing what is taught at our Caregivers-to-Caregivers Training Programme.
