Experience Forest Therapy - Nature Reconnections

Studies had shown that nature and nature-related activities are beneficial to us. Forest Therapy refers to the practice of spending time in forested areas for the purpose of enhancing health, wellness, and happiness. The practice follows the general principle that it is beneficial to spend time bathing in the atmosphere of the forest.

We invite caregivers and their loved ones who are wheelchair or personal mobility aid (PMA) users to experience 2.5 hours personalised and exclusive session where we will visit your preferred nature location or recommended nature locations such as Hindhede Nature Park, Singapore Botanic Gardens and Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve at your preferred date and time in August to September 2020, subject to location feasibility and guide availability. This nature experience is at no cost to the families/groups and includes two-way wheelchair accessible van transport, guide, snacks and drinks.

Nature Reconnections is initiated and organized on a volunteer basis by Kian, a Certified Forest Therapy Guide as a way to contribute towards community well-being and supported by Temasek Trust (Oscar@Sg Fund).

Note: 1) Strictly for families/groups with at least one participant who is a wheelchair or PMA user.

2) In view of COVID-19 advisory, group size is kept to 4 family members/friends and a guide. 3) Two groups of families/friends with total not more than 4 pax is possible per session. 4) Each family/group may apply only once. 5) Limited to the first 10 families/group of friends who can confirm the session.

Registration is now closed.

About 14 families/groups of our caregivers and the general public benefitted from the recently concluded Nature Reconnections – Forest Therapy activity conducted by Kian, a certified guide. Participants shared how grateful they were for the opportunity to spend time with their loved ones in the nature especially in the current COVID-19 pandemic.

One of our caregivers, Nadia Daeng, shared: “My mother was truly moved and immensely appreciates the Nature Reconnections Therapy experience. Watching her be able to express joy for her surroundings was an amazing opportunity to bond and heal. It gave me the chance for a welcome break as well. We are both so grateful.”
