Milestones and Awards

On 25 Oct 2011, CAL’s founding members, Singapore Anglican Community Services, Caregivers’ Association of the Mentally Ill and BinjaiTree Limited established CAL to support caregivers of persons with mental health issues.

Starting in April 2012, CAL's 12-week C2C Programme began running to give training to caregivers, and to provide them the support needed to better understand and care for their loved ones.

In November 2013, the Caregivers Support Centre (CSC) at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) opened to offer onsite support to caregivers.

In April 2015, CAL initiated its Individual Training and Support (ITS) programme to reach out to caregivers unable to leave their homes for long, meeting them at their own homes or at locations more convenient to them instead.

By 2017, CAL established a presence at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH), Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH), Changi General Hospital (CGH), Singapore General Hospital (SGH), Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) and National University Hospital (NUH).
