Caregiver Training Programmes


The C2C PMHI Programme is CAL's signature training programme. It is a fully-funded 12-week course for caregivers of Persons with Mental Health Issues (PMHIs), and is held at locations all over Singapore.

Topics include:

  • Mental health conditions & the brain

  • Medications and their effects

  • Communicating with a loved one with a mental health issue

  • Understanding recovery and resilience


Trauma Informed Care Awareness Talk (1 hour)

This introductory talk explores what a shared understanding of trauma entails, its prevalence in Singapore, and how trauma can be caused by an event like the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants also learn how to identify trauma in children and youth caused by Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)

CAL has launched a 8-sessions C2C programme for Young Caregivers (C2C-YCG) of Persons with Mental Health Issues (PMHIs). 

 Topics include:

  • Holistic View of Mental Health & Caregiving

  • Problem Solving Framework 

  • Practice of Empathy

  • Effective Communication and more


Trauma Informed Care

Workshop for Parents and Caregivers (4 hours)

This workshop helps parents and caregivers how to integrate trauma informed care into their interactions with children and youths, as we help you understand: 

1.    What trauma entails
2.    Trauma informed approaches
3.    Implementation of trauma informed care
4.    Healing and recovery

Dates: 21 Nov & 28 Nov 2020, Sat  or

           12 Dec & 19 Dec 2020, Sat

Time: 10am-12nn


The C2C Dementia Programme is for caregivers of persons with dementia. This fully-funded course runs over 8 weeks, and will teach you how to better care for your loved one with dementia.

Topics include:

  • Understanding and managing dementia

  • How to handle challenging behaviour of loved ones with dementia

  • Difference between dementia and signs of normal aging


CAL occasionally holds other training programmes for the benefit of our caregivers. Some of these may focus on specific mental health conditions, such as dementia, while others may concentrate on specific aspects of caregiving, such as mindfulness.

As course length and schedule may differ from our C2C classes, please check the details carefully before signing up.
